The Taj Mahal was opened in 1990 as one of the premier gaming destinations in the United States and, today, is reclaiming its position as one of America's most opulent and exciting gaming properties through hundreds of millions of dollars in renovation, re-theming and expansion projects.
The Taj Mahal boasts 1,250 newly renovated hotel rooms with nearly 800 more rooms under construction in a new, state-of-the-art hotel tower scheduled to open in 2008. Additionally, seven new luxurious penthouse-suites are scheduled to debut in Summer 2007, which promise to be some of the most exquisite suites in any American casino hotel.
The Taj Mahal has nearly completed the Spice Road project. Greeting guests as they arrive and depart from the building, Spice Road is a new retail and dining promenade that will offer guests a variety of options, including new food and beverage amenities. Among the new dining and retail options at Spice Road are: Plate, a 24-hour American cafe; Burger, a gourmet hamburger restaurant; Freeze, serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic frozen drinks; Stem by David Tutera, a boutique flower shop; Candy, a new high-end cure for the sweet tooth; and well-known brands such as Cache´ and Starbucks.
The Taj Mahal has opened a variety of amenities that are raising the bar for entertainment in Atlantic City. Today, Ego, the new bar and ultra-lounge, The Rim, a gourmet noodle bar, and a new Asian Gaming Pit are already bringing new excitement to the casino floor.
The Taj Mahal is home to more than a dozen restaurants, including a gourmet Italian restaurant, a gourmet steakhouse and several casual dining options. The Casbah, ranked one of the top nightclubs in the country, opens its doors to excitement every Friday and Saturday night.
