New site to focus on exciting new developments and issues affecting
casinos
Atlantic City, NJ — The Casino Association of New Jersey (CANJ) has
launched a new Web site to give its customers, policymakers, taxpayers
and other interested parties information about developments affecting
gaming in the Garden State.
"This Web site is designed to provide the information necessary
to the people who benefit from our industry and for those who establish policies that have an impact upon our thriving and healthy industry," said Joseph
Corbo, president of the CANJ.
"The site includes everything from the ‘Casino News Service’ to
links to casinos, regulatory agencies and other places
of interest. It will fully allow visitors to understand
the contributions casino gaming has made to the state and to appreciate
the urgent need to keep the industry flourishing," Corbo said.
The site also includes sections where visitors can get facts about
the more than 62,000 jobs generated directly and indirectly by casinos,
the $2.2 billion worth of purchases that casinos make in virtually every
county in New Jersey, and the more than $7 billion that the industry
has provided in prescription benefits and other assistance to seniors
and disabled persons in New Jersey since the opening of Atlantic City’s
first casino in 1978.
The site also provides a central location where consumers can connect to the casino of their choice and get a broad view of the entertainment options that are available to them in Atlantic City.
"We expect the new Web site to be a valuable tool for anyone who
visits our casinos, wants to know about the
billions of dollars of expansions slated for the state’s No. 1
resort area or who is concerned about keeping the
industry healthy and its economic and other benefits flowing to the
millions of people who have come to rely on us," Corbo added.
